The Shining
Directed by Stanley Kubrick
All work. No way out.
An aspiring writer becomes the winter caretaker of an isolated hotel. As snow cuts his family off from the world, the building’s past begins to intrude on their present.
Why it stays with you
Impossible corridors, unsettling symmetry, and a hotel that feels alive. A masterclass in letting a space do the haunting.
